Managed WiFi And Infrastructure Solutions:
For many businesses, wifi is no longer a convenience – it is foundational infrastructure. Yet unreliable connections, security gaps, and overstretched IT resources continue to hold organisations back.
Managed WiFi solutions address these problems by placing wireless network design, deployment, and ongoing management in the hands of a specialist provider, giving your team peace of mind and your users consistent connectivity.
How can we help?
What Are Managed WiFi Services and Solutions?
Managed WiFi, sometimes called WiFi as a Service (WaaS) – is a subscription-based service for wireless network management where a third-party provider takes full responsibility for your wi fi network. Rather than purchasing hardware and hoping your it department can keep everything running, you outsource the entire lifecycle to a partner with dedicated expertise.
Managed wifi solutions combine enterprise-grade hardware, cloud software, 24/7 monitoring, and technical support into a single, fully managed wireless service. The provider handles everything: site surveys, wireless network design, installation of access points and switches, SSID and security configuration, guest wifi portals, and ongoing maintenance. Wireless network design is a core component of managed wifi services, ensuring coverage is engineered rather than guessed at.
The goal is consistent, business-grade internet access for staff, guests, and connected devices – without the company needing to recruit or train in-house wifi specialists. High-performance managed wifi services operate on a subscription model, which means companies pay predictable monthly fees rather than heavy up-front capital expenditure. This OPEX approach suits many businesses, from corporate offices and schools to warehouses, hospitality venues, and multi-tenant buildings, because it turns unpredictable infrastructure spend into a manageable line item.
How Managed WiFi Works in Practice
Survey and design
The process starts with a professional site WiFi survey. Desktop heatmap tools simulate coverage based on floor plans, wall materials, user density, and interference sources. An optional on-site survey validates these predictions and identifies problem areas such as dead zones or RF interference from other devices.
Infrastructure-first planning
Before a single access point is mounted, providers plan the wired backbone: Cat6 or Cat6A cabling runs, fibre uplinks between buildings, comms cabinets, and PoE switches sized for current and future power demands. Patch leads, ducting, and mounting points are specified. This infrastructure-first approach ensures the wifi system can scale without ripping out cabling later.
Deployment and configuration
Engineers install access points at surveyed locations, create separate SSIDs for staff and guest wifi, apply VLAN segmentation to isolate data flows, and test roaming, throughput, and coverage. Providers use enterprise-grade hardware and expert designs to ensure consistent performance across every floor and building.
Cloud-based centralized management
A cloud controller or unified dashboard lets the provider monitor and control multiple locations from one platform – pushing firmware updates, replicating configurations, and raising real-time alerts. This centralized management model is what allows managed WiFi at scale: a single provider can oversee hundreds of sites without dispatching engineers to each one.
Ongoing managed wifi services
After go-live, the provider delivers 24/7 monitoring, firmware patching, configuration backups, performance tuning, and fault response under formal SLAs. Managed WiFi solutions provide 24/7 support for security issues and general faults alike, and managed WiFi optimizes wireless coverage and eliminates dead zones through continuous tuning. Single-provider accountability means one partner is responsible end-to-end – no finger-pointing between hardware vendors, cabling contractors, and internal IT.

Key Benefits of Managed WiFi for Businesses
Reliability and performance
Survey-led design paired with enterprise access points – featuring MU-MIMO, band steering, and automatic channel selection – dramatically reduces network congestion and dead zones. Managed WiFi improves network speed and performance by engineering capacity into the network from day one, ensuring users enjoy fast speeds even during peak hours.
Enhanced security
Managed solutions raise the bar for protection with WPA3 encryption, 802.1X authentication, next-generation firewalls, and network segmentation. This layered approach mitigates security risks that plague ad-hoc setups. Encryption and intrusion detection enhance managed WiFi security further, while continuous firmware patching keeps vulnerabilities closed.
Reduced IT workload
Outsourcing WiFi reduces upfront hardware investments and frees your it department to focus on applications, users, and strategic projects instead of chasing intermittent connectivity complaints. Managed WiFi reduces IT management costs through outsourcing, and routine upgrades are less expensive with managed WiFi services because the provider absorbs lifecycle refresh costs.
Cost predictability
Managed WiFi allows predictable monthly service fees – no surprise invoices for failed switches or emergency engineer call-outs. Total cost of ownership decreases with managed WiFi solutions because hardware, labour, and support are bundled. Overall, managed WiFi reduces total cost of ownership for businesses of every size.
Scalability
Need to add a new floor, building, or warehouse bay? Scalable wifi lets you connect additional access points and SSIDs without redesigning the entire system. This ability to expand incrementally is one reason the global managed WiFi market is projected to reach roughly US$49.2 billion by 2032.
Better user experience
Reliable wi fi means VoIP calls, video conferencing, and cloud applications run without buffering or dropouts. Users benefit from enhanced user experience through stable connections for various applications, which directly lifts productivity. Managed WiFi provides 24/7 support for end-users and employees, so problems are resolved before they cascade.

How can we help?
What is Network Cabling?
Rydal offers top notch network cabling services as part of our connectivity and infrastructure solutions. Our go-to method for building a solid network is to run Cat6 Ethernet cabling from each access point all the way back to the central comms cabinet or local network switch. This approach gives you a whole lot more in terms of security, reliability, and performance – supporting both data and voice needs without the same kind of problems you get with wireless-only solutions which can really struggle with signal loss and instability.
Where we need to:
We take a good hard look at how the site is laid out and come up with a cabling plan that makes sense, factoring in the distance from comms to each access point to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Hardwired cabling is a game-changer for Wi-Fi rollouts, VoIP systems, and any must-have business apps that need reliable bandwidth.
By favouring Ethernet over using extenders or mesh networks – which can be pretty flaky – we guarantee super fast, lag-free connectivity and solid coverage – all the time, minimising the risk of outages and performance dips
Why Our Structured Cabling Network Works
Certified Installation Using the Right Cables
We install Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cables matched precisely to your environment. Twisted pair cables are commonly used in Ethernet networks to connect devices for reliable data transmission on horizontal runs, while fibre optic backbone links handle longer distances and high bandwidth demands. Built with twisted copper wire pairs to reduce interference, they remain a practical choice for many business installations. Choosing the appropriate cable depends on network needs and environment – we ensure you get exactly the right cable type for every run.
Comprehensive Testing with Industry-Standard Equipment
Every cable is certified using Fluke DSX-series testers, which measure insertion loss, crosstalk, return loss, and screen continuity. This rigorous testing after installation ensures performance meets standards and qualifies your system for manufacturer warranties of 15–25 years. Proper cabling ensures low latency and high bandwidth across your entire network.
Structured Cabling Design for Scalability
Our network design follows ANSI/TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards with properly specified patch panels, cable management, containment pathways, and zone boxes. Structured cabling systems support future expansions without major disruptions, so your infrastructure grows with your business.
BICSI-Certified Engineers, Minimal Disruption
Our installation teams hold BICSI certification and manufacturer accreditations. We phase work to minimise impact on your operations, scheduling out-of-hours where needed, ensuring stable connectivity throughout the project.
Full Compliance, Zero Guesswork
Adhering to TIA/EIA-568 standards ensures cabling compatibility across all your equipment. We also comply with BS EN 50173, BS EN 50174, and BS 6701, plus fire safety Euroclass ratings. This removes compliance concerns entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does installation take?
Timescales depend on project scope. A small office with 10–20 points can typically be completed in 1–2 days. Larger installations across multiple floors or buildings may take several weeks. We provide detailed timelines during the survey phase, and our phased approach means you maintain connectivity throughout.
Will installation disrupt our business operations?
We design every project around your operational needs. Installation is phased so only isolated zones are affected at any time, and we routinely work evenings, weekends, and during school holidays to eliminate disruption. In the London Borough of Barnet school projects, no single school experienced downtime during major infrastructure switch-overs.
What warranty do you provide?
All installations include our workmanship guarantee plus manufacturer system warranties. Depending on the cable type and components specified, system warranties range from 15 to 25 years. These warranties are backed by certified Fluke DSX test documentation – without this testing, manufacturers will not honour warranty claims. We provide all test reports and warranty certificates at handover.
Do you work outside London and the South East?
Our core service area covers London, Kent, Surrey, the South East, and Birmingham. We regularly deliver projects further afield across the UK for organisations with suitable project scope. Contact us to discuss your requirements and location – we’ll confirm coverage and any minimum project requirements for distant locations.

Luke Bonner saved the day again and made many extremely happy by resolving all issues🥂Posted on Google Val AlderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A corporate decision saw us move our broadband and telephone system to a new provider who offered a more favourable package both financially and in terms of the services offered and they commissioned Rydal, who would be responsible for the planning, the supply of all equipment, installation and every part of the operational requirements, both during installation and moving forward. Within our company I have the responsibility for the entire system in relation to requirements and operational needs and therefore my interaction with Rydal was immense. Our order consisted of 75 fixed desk handsets and 11 walkabout telephones over 20 different sites in addition to the broadband installs, new fibre cabling involving (sadly) Openreach, who performance and organisation was abysmal. From the start Rydal sought to introduce any relevant personnel and explain the part they would play. It was also an opportunity to ensure clear lines of communication were established and our expectations could be clearly defined. Our key individual was our Project Co-ordinator, Angela Melvin and I can say with all sincerity that I don’t know what we would have done without her, she was an absolute star and poor Angela had to pick up all the shortfalls of Openreach, which she did admirably. This was quite a sizeable project with many complexities and restrictions owing to the nature of our business where a service had to remain 24/7 and be worked around staff shift patterns etc so hurdles were going to appear from time to time, but each time they were presented she would overcome and resolved in a calm and civilised fashion. Angela was never once phased; she would use such a fantastic phrase when I called her with an issue it was ‘leave it with me’ and you could be confident that it would be dealt with and outcomes fed back. Her tenacity and commitment to task was nothing short of commendable. If anyone heard me speaking with her you would think I was talking to a friend – our professional relationship went from strength to strength. If anything arose that she was unsure of, she was not too proud, given her knowledge and experience, she would refer and discuss with colleagues ensuring at all times that the correct information was relayed back. She was so instrumental to ensure that the installation was planned with absolute precision, and the installers were 1st Class (Simon and Will) who made every effort ensure client satisfaction and their necessary interaction with our IT engineers was superb as was Angela’s. Our ‘Down Time’ on switchover day was absolutely minimal and scheduled accordingly owing to company needs. Personally I cannot thank her enough for her support and assistance. Dion O’Byrne (Chanel Growth & Strategy) was another individual who played a key part from the offset and was always there to ensure customer satisfaction and that all initially discussed requirements to be achieved were fully met upon completion and that we had an effective operating system and equipment. There were No empty promises which can so often be the case when trying to clinch a deal. Training on the system was comprehensive and if in doubt there was always someone to bail you out and put you on the right track. Of course I was sceptical initially as I was happy with our old providers and the system we were using, however now we are all fully equipped, and the system is complete I would recommend Rydal without a shadow of a doubt and I am so very pleased we moved over – the system is excellent, the portal is so user friendly and every single one of them at Rydal are at the end of a phone, more than happy to assist – If they say they will call you back, you can rest assured that they will. If you were in doubt as to whether to change suppliers I would recommend ‘Move Providers’ as I am so sure you would not be disappointed. Val Alder Personal Assistant to the MD and Head of Co.
